Background

The organization of Hansel Pharmaceutical ventured in Pharma business in 1989 by launching a distribution company Al-Rehman Enterprises. Over a period of fifteen years Al-Rehman Enterprises has become a well reputed and leading company in the fields of marketing and distribution of medicines/drugs to government as well as private sector institutions/hospitals and foreign aided projects sponsored by World Health Organization, Asian Development Bank and World Bank along with marketing medicines/drugs.

In 2004, the management of Al-Rehman Enterprises established their own manufacturing unit i.e. “Hansel Pharmaceuticals (Pvt.) Ltd” not only to participate in the tender business at their own and to market its own manufactured products in Pakistan but also to export its manufactured medicines/drugs.

Meaning of Hansel

The word is a variation of Hansel, which means, “a gift made as a token of good wishes or luck especially at the beginning of a new year or something received first (as in a day of trading) and taken to be a token of good luck”.
